DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
The Clemmons fire department sponsors an Explorer post. This is a program designed to instill the confidence and knowlege one will need to pursue a career anywhere in the fire service. The post is open to anyone, male or female, who is 14 years of age and completed the eighth grade up to the age of 21. Any youth wanting to be a member of the Explorer post, must attend four consecutive meetings and then be voted on by the active members.

TRAINING The Explorer Post trains every thursday night, excluding the second thursday of each month. The post tries to provide quality training through scenarios, hands on drills, discussion, and real experiance on actual fire calls. Though we strive to show the Explorers the ins and outs of our business, they cannot perform any aggressive interior firefighting activities

EXPLORER POST ACTIVITIES The Explorer Post does more than just teach the basics of the fire service. We preform civic activities, such as the "ADOPT A HIGHWAY" program. From time to time we travel to the the Forsyth County fire department. we also do fund raisers throughout the year, which include car washes, or yes even a bake sale!

TIME AT THE STATION Active members in the explorer post are permitted to spend time at the fire station to learn about the daily activities of the career fire fighters. Members in good standing can spend the night at the central station. All of these activities are considered privilages.
